Message from the Chair
Section Chair:
Hector Huezo
U.S. Department of Transportation
Washington, D.C.
As 2011 comes to a close, I thank you for your involvement, encouragement and support. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Cassidy, the former Chair, for her outstanding leadership and dedication to the Transportation and Transportation Security Law Section during her tenure as Chair. Because of Amy, our Section had yet another successful year.
Our Section is getting off to a great start. In November 2011, we held our Annual Legislative Update at the Department of Transportation. We are now in the planning stage for hosting a half day forum on pressing legal issues in aviation security at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) headquarters in February. Last year’s forum was very successful and included dignitaries such as the Honorable Norman Mineta and senior TSA officials.
We hope that you continue to support and be involved in our Section in 2012. Please note that the Federal Bar Association and the Transportation and Transportation Security Law Section have begun a campaign to recruit new members. Please encourage your colleagues, both within and outside of the government, to join us and become active members in the Transportation and Transportation Security Law Section.
Hector O. Huezo
Chair, Transportation and Transportation Security Law Section
Federal Bar Association
The Section amended their bylaws in February 2010.
