Publications and Communication

The Federal Bar Association produces a wide variety of publications for its members. From its nationally distributed, flagship magazine to newsletters published by individual sections, members regularly receive relevant, in-depth information that is thought-provoking and reliable.

“The FBA has a diverse array of publications to keep members informed, both on news topics and on substantive issues. These are valuable resources I turn to time and again.”

- Hon. Elizabeth Kronk Warner, Sault St. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Court of Appeals and University of Kansas School of Law

The Federal Lawyer Magazine
The Federal Lawyer is the only professional publication devoted to the interest of federal practitioners. Published 10 times a year, the magazine provides a forum in which to publish articles and a source for pertinent information. An Editorial Board made up of FBA member volunteers guides the content of the magazine, through substantive articles submitted by FBA members as well as respected professionals, judges, and educators across the country. Many FBA sections and divisions have regular columns providing practice area specific updates. Judicial profiles are a highlight of the magazine, and appear in every issue. The 2015 editorial calendar is listed at right; articles not related to a theme are accepted on a rolling basis. See The Federal Lawyer for more information.

FBA e-Newsletter
This benefit of FBA membership delivers relevant legal news directly to inboxes on a regular basis. It also contains a summary of activities on both the local and national level, throughout the organization, as well as announcements of upcoming FBA events.

Section, Division, and Chapter Newsletters
Many of the FBA’s specialty sections and divisions publish newsletters that keep their members informed of new developments, trends, legislation, and news as it pertains to specific areas of federal law. FBA chapters also provide news and updates to their members for a more locally-focused take on current events in the legal community. For more information about all FBA publications, visit www.fedbar.org and click on the “Publications” tab.
