The Federal Bar Association presents national webinars with a virtual educational platform called ON24.

SPEAKERS

Approximately one week prior to the webinar, you will receive a calendar invitation from FBA staff which will have a “presenter studio” link for you to log into the system on the webinar date. The calendar invitation will budget for a 30-minute prep period prior to the webinar’s live start time. During this period, presenters will test connections and review platform functionality with FBA staff. Be sure to review system requirements and test your webcam connection prior to the webinar date. Test-sessions on the virtual platform with FBA staff are available upon request.

System Requirements

  • Use a computer with internet, webcam, and microphone capabilities. You cannot use a mobile device or tablet for the streaming software.
  • Use a web browser with the latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. The platform does not support Safari or Internet Explorer.
  • Government agency and IRS networks may block the streaming software. If this occurs, please have a personal computer available for use.
  • Virtual sessions require suitable internet strength to stream online panels. A minimum internet connection of 800 Kbps is recommended. Test your connection here.

Presenter Studio Functionality

  • PowerPoint Slides: FBA staff will upload the PPT file into the system prior to the webinar date. All presenters are able to advance their own slides within the studio by clicking on the arrow buttons that populate as you hover your mouse over the primary PPT slide.
  • Team Chat: Speakers can communicate privately with each other and FBA staff via this chat box without interrupting the flow of the webinar.
  • Q&A Management: Questions will populate in the Q&A window’s Inbox. Attendees submit their questions throughout the entire presentation, and will display numbered, with most recent at the top of the screen. Speakers should answer questions verbally so the entire audience can benefit from the response. Use the Mark as Answered or Move to Trash button to remove an answered question from the queue.
  • Polls: CLE webinars are required to program at least two (2) pop-up polls during a 60-min session. FBA staff will program generic polls into the presentation and consult speakers on preferred placement within the slide deck. Polls will display as PPT slides within the presenter studio, but deploy as a pop-up window for attendees. Presenters should keep poll slides on the screen for 5 seconds to ensure accurate functionality, and then can advance to the following slide. Speakers can customize polls upon request with FBA staff.

  • Virtual presentations will be recorded and then offered on-demand for registered attendees to re-watch at their discretion.
